When the load is bigger than any crane
Some moves can’t be done with a crane. The module is too heavy, the path is too long, or there’s no place to set up a crane that can reach. That’s where SPMTs come in.
How SPMTs work
Each SPMT axle line carries 30–48 tons depending on the configuration. Lines couple together — side by side, end to end, or both — to make any size combination needed. The whole train is computer-controlled: every axle steers, every axle drives, and the operator can move the entire load forward, sideways, or rotate in place.

- Heavy industrial modules — refinery sections, chemical plant skids, prefab buildings

Mobilization
SPMTs ship in axle-line groups on lowboys. Larger combinations require multiple loads plus the power-pack-unit (PPU) and operator stations. We coordinate the mob with the project schedule.

What is an SPMT?
A Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) is a multi-axle, computer-controlled trailer that moves under its own power. SPMTs can be coupled into long combinations to carry loads of hundreds or thousands of tons, and the computer-controlled steering allows precise positioning under heavy modules.
When do I need an SPMT instead of a crane?
SPMTs are the right tool when: the load is too heavy for any practical crane, the load needs to be moved horizontally over distance, the lift point is unreachable from any crane staging area, or you're doing roll-on/roll-off from a barge or rail. They're often used in combination with cranes — crane lifts, SPMT carries.
What's the heaviest load an SPMT combination can carry?
Practically unlimited with enough axle lines. Modules of 1,000–5,000 tons are routinely moved with SPMT combinations. We size the combination to the load.
Are SPMTs used for jack and slide?
Often, yes. An SPMT brings the module to the staging area; jack and slide takes it the final distance into a constrained space. See Jack & Slide.
