The LTM 1200-5.1, 160,000 lb of counterweight, and a heavy-lift block — to raise a locomotive six feet and pull a traction motor.
The lift
Northwest team members rigged the Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 with 160,000 lb of counterweight and a 295,000 lb capacity heavy-lift block to pick half of a 400,000 lb locomotive in Noble, Oklahoma. The locomotive had to be raised six feet so a traction motor could be winched out from underneath.
