• Origin coordination — sand received at transload yard from mine truck or rail

What to evaluate when scoping a provider

Coverage and proximity

• Do they have yards near your active completion areas?
• How fast can they mobilize for a new pad?
• Do they have surge capacity if your campaign accelerates?

Equipment and fleet

• How many pneumatic trucks do they run, and where?
• How many silos do they have available?
• How modern is the fleet?

Safety and compliance

• ISN, PEC, Avetta — are they pre-qualified?
• Driver hiring standards (CDL, experience, drug program)
• Safety record (TRIR, EMR, DART) — published and current?

Operational

• 24/7 dispatch?
• Telematics for ETA tracking and route optimization?
• Coordination process when pump rate changes mid-campaign?

Commercial

• Pricing structure (per load, per ton, per silo, base + variable?)
• Demurrage and idle truck charges
• Refill SLA on on-pad silos

Why integrated matters

When a frac pad’s pump rate spikes, sand consumption jumps. If your hauler, your transload, and your silo provider are different companies, the response time stacks. Integrated supply means one phone call, one dispatcher, and one team accountable for keeping the pad supplied.
